I just got back from my first class at cooking school. Macarons!!!!!!! There are no words. (But there are pictures and a blog post trying to get out.) More to come.

Every time I come here, I’m struck by the fact that Paris is a world city, but on a human scale. It begs to be walked, experienced, (okay, and yes—eaten!) on a personal level. I can see why it’s your favorite.

The marathon was such a Paris event! That night we met two young women proudly sporting medallions, two more were in my cooking class, and all week we saw joggers wearing their bright orange finishers’ t-shirts. We felt lucky to have seen it.
