Mwa! To the best blog readers in the world!

Thanks so much to everyone who stopped by my blog last week and voted, commented, tweeted, emailed, and (anonymously) left that note through my letter slot with your thoughts about the sample covers for my new book.

The results? There really wasn’t a clear winner, probably because each of the covers had flaws.

So what did I learn? From your comments and suggestions, I’ve put together a new cover that I’m pretty happy about. But more than that, I was overwhelmed with your thoughtful, wonderful, helpful ideas.

You’d think I’d just be grateful for each and every one of you.

You’d think.

Those who know me, of course, realize that instead I’m going to take shameless advantage of all that help and goodwill and ask for more. MUCH more.

My new book is coming out on 1 February. (Details are below)  What I’d welcome and absolutely LOVE is to send an advance copy to any of you who might have time to review Life Begins When The Kids Leave Home And The Dog Dies. I’d be SO grateful. From me, there will undoubtedly be tears and snot and lots of other pathetic bits we don’t need to go into here. From you, there will (I hope) be some chuckles.

Either way, I hope you’ll take a look at Life Begins When The Kids Leave Home And The Dog Dies. It’s a book I put together last week, but have been writing for thirty years.

ONCE UPON A TIME…

Chapter 1. A California girl named Barb met her prince of a guy. He was tall, dark, and handsome. (Actually, he was a Republican. But he was definitely tall.) They fell in love, and got married.

Chapter 2. He brought her to his castle in England and they lived happily ever after.

**Luckily, 35+ years of living happened between Chapters 1 and 2, giving Barb plenty of material for this collection (in no particular chronological order) from her newspaper columns, articles, blog posts, and that time she killed Mom.

And that’s before Chapter 3 even starts.

One of my favorite writers, Sue Vincent, said,

I have learned to put down the coffee and place breakable objects at a safe distance when a post from Barb Taub comes up. It is very hard to drink coffee and laugh at the same time without redecorating the desk…
