So this is what hope looks like!
I was in India and couldn’t take part, but I’m so grateful and proud of my sisters, my nieces, cousins, family and friends. They wore pink pussy hats and carried signs and held hands. They marched for our country, our children, and our future. They are beautiful and more importantly, they are hope.
This is the upside of the downside. This is an outpouring of energy, and true democracy like I have never seen in my very long life. It is wide in age, it is deep in diversity, and remember, the Constitution does not begin with “I the president,” it begins with “we the people.”—Gloria Steinem, Women’s March on Washington, January 21, 2107
