We’re all Irish on St. Patrick’s day. Even Beyoncé.

“Same thing every year, getting up at the crack of dawn, drinking, fighting, throwing up, pissing on walls, and then you leave the house and things get bad.” ― Greg Fitzsimmons [Image credit: Boondock Saints]
So of course, when inquiring Irish journalist Amy O’Connor of the Daily Edge realized, “…that I didn’t know what any of our politicians thought of Beyoncé,” her only option was to ask all 158 TDs ** —and publish their full responses, along with pictures. The results? As one Reddit commenter puts it, “It’s like finding out your grandpa used to be a huge madonna fan.” See the full story, complete with not-to-be missed pictures of each TD who responded, as well as Amy’s snarky comments. (“You think you know someone.”)
**NOTE: Thank you Wikipedia! A TD (plural TDanna in Irish; full Irish form Teachta Dála /ˌtjɒxtə ˈdɔːlə/, Irish: [ˈtʲaxt̪ˠə ˈd̪ˠɑːlˠə], plural Teachtaí Dála) is a member of Dáil Éireann, the lower house of the Oireachtas (the Irish Parliament).
And in the Irish spirit of Beyoncé, here is a belt-yer-socks-off version of Queen Bey’s “Listen“—sung by Kerrie Ann Lomas, a young mother from Merseyside, to her three-year-old climbing all over her. (What? Don’t be silly. Of course they’re Irish. At least for March 17th.)
Ya wanna know somethin’? And this ain’t no bullshit. Me, bullshit? Never! But I gotta say, without reservation, you, little missy, are one of the finest writers I’ve run into on this thing called the internet. Whatever that is.
And I’m not just talkin’ about this post. It’s too short for my likes. But you have a gift, and if I was a lesser person, I’d be very jealous. However, seein’ as how I’m so Christ-like, I just love your friggin’ writing.
If I had one bitch about you, it would be that your daughter works for someone that takes way too much time off. I mean, what’s with Sam Bee? We need her voice right now.
As usual, I’m getting sidetracked. I got about eighteen more paragraphs in me on this subject, but I’ll let you off easy … this time.

WOW! Barbara is indeed all that. She is also my oldest sister – when we were little we worshiped her and debated if she was indeed the MOST beautiful girl in the world. Now ,decades later, she continues to impress us. Nice to know its not just a family bias !

Okay, I’m officially red-faced here… Two things I should point out, Andrew (and MarySue).
Thing one: this post came from a tip from another of my talented daughters, Amanda, in her New York Times column. The good stuff keeps on coming from those Taub girls, even if they trade off!
Thing two: MarySue didn’t tell you what came next in that old debate. The next sister pointed out that they hadn’t actually met all the girls in the world, so it was quite possible that their eldest sister was in fact not the most beautiful. (Sadly, all too soon they all realized that truth!)
