In the middle of a heatwave during London’s hottest summer on record…

Sure you could battle thousands of other tourists to visit London’s St. Pauls, Big Ben, the British Museum… You could see the Gherkin, the Shard, The London Eye. [image credit: Pixabay]

OR you could visit the Other London—where you cross Hampstead Heath to climb Parliament Hill on a sunny summer day…

And then you could dine in the garden at Spaniards Inn, a 16th century establishment that was home to London’s most notorious outlaw, Dick Turpin.

Maybe I’ll see you in the Other London—where there’s a gin & tonic calling your name. Al fresco, of course!
Your choice.
I know which London I’d always go for… looks wonderful 😀

It really was magic. Makes you realize why Londoners have been escaping to Hampstead Heath all these centuries!

Perhaps a bit of both, spread out over a period of tme. Maybe heath by day, city by night?
Side note: I thoroughly enjoyed “Apprenticed to my Mother”. Thank you for bringing it to my attention.

Funnily enough, I have been wanting to visit Hampstead Heath for a while now. It is somewhere I have never been, which is remarkable, seeing as how I lived in London for a long time…

Didn’t he play second base for the Yankees?

Maybe, but after he retired he opened a bunch of patio-style restaurants.
