Thanks, Darlene! I do feel incredibly lucky most days. (Of course, then there are days like the big storm a few days ago when the ferry was cancelled and I missed an important event in Glasgow… Those days I don’t feel quite so lucky.)

What a wonderful, inspiring place to live! I imagine there are drawbacks to being on a island – but such beauty!

Well…there is the fact that all the tourists go home in September, and the restaurants and shops tend to close down until spring. And the ferry controls our lives, so a big topic of conversation tends to be boat delays/cancellations. During a prolonged storm last winter, fruit and veg shelves were literally empty. But we learn to stock up, plan for the delays, and appreciate the quiet.

Sounds like planning for the end of the world! But the quiet is good for writing, yes?
