A misty morning as Florence goes into full (Red level) lockdown. We’re isolating, but the gate is wide open because this little guy is snoozing inside the gate post.
(And since he’s not even wearing a mask and has already lost half his tail, I can’t count on him to make good choices if I try to latch the gate…)
So we’ll just keep a polite social distance.
And enjoy autumn together.
How beautiful!

I know everyone is exhausted by the pandemic and depressed at the thought of more lockdown… But if it has to happen, I am grateful to be in such a gorgeous location.

Lovely pictures, Barb. I think a winter lockdown is harder to take. Ours ran through winter and it was a bit depressing. Wishing you and yours all the best and may it end soon.

I think everyone is just so tired. This is definitely the part of the marathon where we are all about to hit the wall. So we all need to help each other across the finish line.

Yes, I know that feeling. I wake up some mornings feeling tired.

Please stay safe. We’ll all get through this, but nobody is going to look back on 2020 as the good old days…

Gorgeous view, Barb. Stay home, stay well. As you say, it’s a marathon. All the best.

Glad to see you’re taking the social distancing to heart… As you probably already know, France is locked down as well.

Florence, my favourite city in the whole world. I always meant to return after my too brief sojourn there in 2014, but life got in the way, as it does, and now the option isn’t there. Enjoy Florence as I did ,and make many happy memories to look back on in later years, as I did.

We’re in full lockdown, so memory making is going to be a challenge. But I completely understand your love for this incredibly stunning city full of beautiful art and buildings. (I’d completely LOVE to explore more, but it will have to wait until those vaccines are out.) But then I promise to explore, enjoy, and make those memories!

But in lockdown you will have time to read all about that magical city and the Medicis. I know that many of the books are available as ebooks. If access is once again available before I become too ancient, I shall return
