2020, 2021, 5 stages of grief, Auld Lang Syne, coronavirus, covid-19, Happy New Year, humor, new years eve, New Years Resolution, vaccine

I’ve written here about going through all five classic stages of grief in 2020.
In some ways, Friday, the first day of 2021, will just be the day after Thursday. The same sun will chase the same moon it did the day before. We’ll wake up to the same challenges we went to bed with.
But I choose to see it as a dividing line. The world stopped in 2020, and I believe it will move forward again in 2021. I’ll see the children and grandchildren I haven’t seen in over a year. I’ll gather with family and friends to grieve the ones who won’t join us again. I’ll get a vaccination, I’ll dance in a street, and I’ll hope for a world moving forward again.
Like never before, I’ll wish each of you a safe, peaceful 2021.
I’ll wish you hope.
i so agree with you, i see it as a hopeful new beginning

If someone offered be a choice between hope and a winning lottery ticket? I’d totally take the ticket because I’m not stupid… And because hope is something you have to get for yourself anyway. I hope you’re getting yourself plenty!

Actually, I’m aiming for wild, unprotected, totally out of control, OTT hope. After this past year, we’re all due!

Hope was the last thing to come out of Pandora’s box too, so I’m rooting for it for 2021 for everyone…

Hope” is the thing with feathers -. That perches in the soul -. And sings the tune without the words -. And never stops – at all -. And sweetest – in the Gale – is heard -. And sore must be the storm -. That could abash the little Bird. That kept so many warm. (Emily Dickinson)
So we will fly next year!

I agree about New Year’s day. We will celebrate a little but will save the 2 bottles of champagne for Jan 20th. I think that day can help push everything forward for the better. I also agree about taking the lottery winning. Happier New Year, Barb.

Beautiful wish, Barb. Hope — that’s the key thing, isn’t it. The feeling of hopelessness is devastating. Thanks for your happy & sassy posts throughout 2020. Happy end of the year!
Hugs on the wing.
