Okay, now I just feel embarrassed that I didn’t wish you Canadians a Happy Thanksgiving back in October…

No worries. We are happy to celebrate both as we are busy getting ready for Christmas. Just one long eating fest! 🍗

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, Barb. I could use a pardon for the thoughts I’ll be thinking as I eat the food of people who are so far right they might fall off their chairs. I’ll keep stuffing like the turkey to keep myself from speaking.

It’s a valid option. Hopefully, we can all be thankful when the tryptophan kicks in!

Today I am thankful that our country FINALLY got it right and convicted 3 white men who chased down an unarmed young black guy and murdered him.

Thanks Cathy!
Thanksgiving is such a wonderful tradition we have in America, in which families get together to awkwardly NOT talk about anything controversial until someone accidentally mentions an incendiary word—pass (sexual or sporting), right, left, president, vaccinations, what some writer/minister/magazine article/president/god wants you to do, things you will/won’t eat—and your only hope is that the tryptophan kicks in before the guns come out.
Wonder why it never caught on in the UK?

Thanks for the turkey fun – and Happy Thanksgiving to you! May the tryptophan have kicked in quickly and everyone been mellow and … er… thankful. (Do the celtic locals embrace Thanksgiving? I suppose it’s a grand excuse for a wee dram or two.)

Amazingly enough, my UK neighbors haven’t really embraced the concept of a holiday which commemorates Pilgrim settlers offering thanks for escaping the King of England and the religion he headed. Go figure…
