No Pizza Delivery For You!
I was moaning crying wailing explaining to friends about missing pizza. We live on an island at the back-end of a pandemic. Our lifeline ferry system is in meltdown, and shelves at local shops are going bare. So I knew there would be no chance of delivering one of my favorite foods, let alone in its wood-fired Napoli perfection.
Now, in other places and times, that might have resulted in a pitying friend bringing me a pizza. They might even make it themselves.

But only on Arran, would my friend Elizabeth bring me a homemade pizza for one with its own fabulously homemade box, complete with a downloaded sticker on top.
a-maz-ing!!!!!!!

OR I have excellent taste/luck in choosing the perfect place to live. Honestly, Arran is just like that. Sometimes when I’m heading back to the island, I feel like I’m passing through a veil that separates the real world from our island full of lovely people. And I ask myself why I would ever leave.

Thanks, I needed that. (The ferries don’t usually make me laugh.)

That is amazing! How wonderful. Did you watch Countryfile? There was a section about the ferries and the lady from the Bay Kitchen (I think it was) was interviewed.

Greater love hath no woman – than one who makes, bakes, personally boxes and delivers, a splendid pizza to a friend in need.
As for the ferry, according to a rebuttal by Michael Lloyd in Private Eye 28 July, ‘95.4 percent of its sailings have been on time this season.’ Just thought I’d cheer you up with the news…
