I tried making the butler a present of the bag-o-fur, but he acted like it was the contents of a used litter box. This goes a lot toward explaining his reaction to the honor of having used mousies lined up next to his bed…

It’s actually shocking to see the ratio of cat to hair and realize they are quite small kitties. SO much fur!

My cat also knew who the dominant species were and wrote a book to that effect called ‘Memoirs of a Superior’. Woe betide anyone who was not chosen by him who approached and tried to pet him. I was his chosen one to offer food and to open and close access to his property and he often indicated his need by sitting on my face while I slept or by running his claws across the soles of my feet under the covers. I knew my place in the heirarchy and it was not at the top.

Running his claws across your innocent sleeping feet? I’m so glad my cats never met yours, and thus realized they were rank amateurs when it comes to torturing/disciplining their staff.

Oh, how to cheer up a miserable wet morning. Thank you,your majesty. Order the valet to knit you a suitably majestic coat. We always know it’s Spring in Pembrokeshire because it’s raining. Oh no, that’s summer… er Autumn … er…. Winter.

Actually, the butler did suggest that the valet spin the shaved hair into yarn and knit a scarf. Oddly, she lacks enthusiasm.

The valet once made the unforgivable mistake of ordering the food IN GRAVY. The cats staged a hunger strike (by which I mean they simply went to every other house in the village and told them they were being starved to death.)

Hilarious, you two! Garfield would enjoy comparing notes with you. He sheds the equivalent of another cat each week, much to the dismay of HIS butler. And as the valet, I do wish Garfield would eat the same thing every day. but he has become terribly picky and I spent my days and my money trying to find something that he will eat!
