Gothic novel: Grown-Up or Out-Grown? #Bookreview of dark urban fantasy RAVEN’S BLOOD by @shawnareppert

March 11, 2016

This dark urban fantasy does authentically focus on its character-driven plot which starts out slowly but builds with each page until you are racing with the characters to their final confrontation. Reformed dark mage Corwyn Ravensblood—Raven—and Cassandra, the woman he loved and betrayed, have established a fragile but growing relationship. But their enemy, William, while weakened is stalking them with the single minded focus of a powerful hatred that has nothing left to lose. The real question is not whether they can withstand William, but whether their fight will cost the life and love they are trying to build.

Superpowers suck? Try Null City. After one day there, imps become baristas, and hellhounds become poodles. But someone should have told them the angels were all on the other side.

Each morning, hope flares in the tiny flash of a second before I touch that first thing. And destroy it.

Warden Carey Parker's to-do list is already long enough: find her brother and sister, rescue her roommate, save Null City, and castrate her ex-boyfriend. Preferably with a dull-edged garden tool. A rusty one.

Two novellas: "Payback Is A Witch" & "Just For The Spell Of It"

The story of three women eating our way across India in search of adventure, elephants, temples, palaces, western toilets, monkeys, the perfect paratha…and the kindness of Indian strangers.
