How to do Scotland in a day. (Hint: start with a trip to the Isle of Aran!)

Surprise a sunrise over Whiting Bay.

Share coffee and spectacular scones at the Glenisle.

Hike up Glen Sannox with interested sheep, and hop stepping stones across the burn.

Visit a castle, tour a distillery, and take home a drivers dram.

Walk a swan-filled beach.

Finish with an evening concert. Laura Penman, student at Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, with her Clarsach (Celtic harp.)
Congratulations! You’ve done Scotland.

Fabulous scenes. I’ve seen it advertised as Scotland in miniature so it would be a perfect place to spend a few days.

I’ve always wanted to take a train through the highlands !

Actually, there is a fantastic steam train that goes from Fort William to Mallaig, through gorgeous countryside. It was used in the Harry Potter movies, and goes over that amazing arched viaduct bridge. Totally bucket-list worthy!

That pretty much ticks all of the boxes for me – including some I hadn’t considered. It’s great that you don’t take any of it for granted. :)

Every time I return to Arran, it’s like I’m 20 lbs lighter and can breathe more easily.

That was a fun trip and I didn’t gain a pound. Well, maybe I did after looking at that scone. Think I’ll take this trip again. Thanks for being such a wonderful host. :)

Meanwhile, I’ll have to take one for the team and eat ALL the scones. It’s a tough job, but…

I have not found a decent scone anywhere that I live right now. I’m so jealous.

I’d love to do this in person. Thank you.

Clearly, somebody besides me needs to be on scone duty!

I’d love to do all of this! Spectacular place where you live (except for the ferry service!)!

Yes, the💩 ferry service does keep us from being too smug about living here!
